No Minecraft for Windows 8?

I was eating lunch at school today, and while two guy sitting next to me were arguing about what would happen if Bruce Wayne fought Tony Stark in hand to hand combat, I was trying to think up a good topic for my next blog. So I searched “Minecraft” on google. The second result that came up was a news article stressing that Minecraft won’t be compatible with Windows 8.

Recently, Notch posted this on twitter: “Got an email from Microsoft wanting to help ‘certify’ Minecraft for Windows 8. I told them to stop trying to ruin the PC as an open platform.” This may mean that Minecraft wont be certified for Windows 8. I’m not saying that it wont be possible for us to play Minecraft in this new version of Windows, but there may not be an official release of it that is “officially” compatible.

Minecraft Updates 12w38b

Mojang kicked it up a notch this week with some of their changes in this weeks snapshot.  Beacon blocks have been tweaked with a new animation.  Silverfish will now randomly spawn in Extreme Hills.. this could make for an interesting situation for the emerald hunters.  Witches have been added and Dinnerbone has confirmed they will be spawning naturally in swamp biomes.  Bats have been added as well and will even fly off to get a drink of water.
